Despite all of this i couldn't get seem to find a single bee nest or let alone bees on. Travelled far out into new chunks (spent over an hour and a half exploring) looked in the 3 biomes in which they spawn (mostly plains) using chunkbase's biome finder. Even tried growing my own oak/birch trees with a flower right next to them to no avail. A nest (or hive) can only hold 3 bees so once there are 4 bees then the extra bee(s) will look for a new home.
